Job Description

University Collision Center has proudly served the Los Angeles area with quality automotive repair and maintenance for over 33 years. We are now seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Body Painter to join our team. This position is responsible for performing high-quality refinish work, ensuring accurate color matching, and delivering a professional finish on every repair. The ideal candidate will work closely with our body technicians and support staff to maintain efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare vehicles and parts for paint (sanding, masking, priming, sealing).
  • Mix and match paint for proper color match.
  • Apply basecoat, clearcoat, and specialty coatings.
  • Perform spot repairs, blends, and full refinish work.
  • Inspect paintwork for quality and finish.
  • Clean and maintain spray guns, booths, and equipment.
  • Follow safety and environmental rules for paint handling.
  • Work with body techs and estimators to stay on plan.
  • Record all work done on repair orders.
  • Keep up with new paint products and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional auto body painting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of refinishing techniques, including prep, basecoat/clearcoat, blending, and spot repair.
  • Ability to mix and match paint for proper color matching.
  • Familiarity with waterborne and solvent-based paint systems.
  • Experience with sanding, masking, priming, and sealing.
  • Knowledge of spray booth operation and equipment maintenance.
  • Commitment to high-quality work and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow safety, environmental, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
