Job Description

Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to launch a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000-square-foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!

The Role:

You will be responsible for driving proactive environmental, health, and safety initiatives across automated and industrial operations. You will develop, implement, and maintain safety systems, programs, and policies that align with regulatory requirements and support a culture of safety by design.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Develop and maintain OSHA/EPA-compliant programs, including welding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), cranes, and confined space entry.
  • Design machine guarding systems, safety logic, and engineered hazard mitigations across multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Lead hazardous materials management, including chemical inventory, waste compliance, SDS maintenance, and permitting.
  • Manage safety-related capital projects, lead incident investigations, and implement corrective actions using data-driven insights.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory inspections and agency interactions.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in EHS within industrial or automated manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in applicable standards such as OSHA 1910/1926, NFPA 70E, ISO 13849, ISO 10218, ANSI B11, and RIA R15.06.
  • Hands-on experience with Safety Management Systems (e.g., CMMS, VelocityEHS) and hazard/risk assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training programs and safety campaigns to cross-functional and diverse teams.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Holds PE licensure and dual certifications (CSP and CIH), with a track record of mentoring safety professionals.
  • Master's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, or Industrial Hygiene.
  • Led development of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems from concept through multi-site certification.
  • Proven record in leading zero-incident programs across 5+ million work-hours in high-automation environments.

Benefits:

  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
  • 401k
  • Relocation stipend if you're moving from outside of LA
  • Flexible vacation policy
