We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable pharmacist to join our team. This role involves verifying medication orders for appropriateness, interactions, and allergies using the Cerner EHR system. The pharmacist will prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital protocols and state/federal regulations, while providing clinical support and drug information to healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
+ Verify medication orders for appropriateness, interactions, and allergies using the Cerner EHR system.
+ Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital protocols and state/federal regulations.
+ Provide clinical support and drug information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
+ Oversee and verify IV admixtures and sterile compounding prepared by pharmacy technicians.
+ Monitor patient medication therapies and provide recommendations for optimization.
+ Ensure compliance with USP <797> and <800> standards for sterile compounding.
+ Assist in maintaining accurate inventory and controlled substance records.
+ Participate in quality assurance initiatives and medication safety programs.
+ Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and students as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
+ Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in Arizona.
+ Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
+ Proficiency with Cerner EHR and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
+ Strong knowledge of IV compounding and sterile product preparation.
+ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and adapt to varying shift schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Pharmacy technician certification
+ Experience with ICD-10 coding
+ Data entry skills
Work Environment
The role offers shift flexibility, including PRN scheduling of 2 to 3 days a week, with night shifts available. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
