Job Title: Prior Authorizations Representative

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: $23 – $29/ hour

Location:  Minneapolis, MN

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prior Authorizations Representative to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support physicians and other healthcare professionals by performing administrative tasks to ensure smooth financial operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administrative Duties:
  • Verify primary and secondary insurance information, and manage inbox with authorizations.
  • Verify services to be provided will be covered by the active insurance.
  • Answer phone calls (limited) and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMRs), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Handle initial stages of the billing, coding, and insurance claims processing.
  • Join team meetings and professionally discuss metrics and authorizations status.
  • Experience with durable medical products preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and basic computer applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Visual and auditory ability to observe and communicate with patients effectively.
