Position Overview: We are seeking board-certified ENT and Ophthalmology providers to deliver specialized telehealth services to patients across the United States. As a 1099 independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to set your own schedule and work remotely, managing your patient panel independently while benefiting from a full suite of support services. You will collaborate with dental, vision, and ENT professionals to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Virtual Consultations: Provide expert evaluation, diagnosis, and management of ENT and ophthalmology conditions via secure video, phone, and asynchronous messaging platforms.
Routine and Preventive Care: Perform routine visits, wellness checks, and preventive screenings for a wide range of ear, nose, throat, and eye conditions.
Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Deliver pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up care for surgical patients, ensuring continuity and safety.
Chronic Disease Management: Manage chronic ENT and ophthalmic conditions (e.g., allergic rhinitis, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy) through ongoing telehealth monitoring and patient education.
Acute Symptom Management: Assess and treat acute symptoms such as sinus congestion, sore throat, ear pain, conjunctivitis, and visual disturbances, determining when in-person care is necessary.
Remote Diagnostic Services: Utilize digital otoscopy, remote imaging, and tele-audiometry tools to support diagnosis and care planning.
Medication Management: Prescribe and manage medications in compliance with state and federal regulations, including e-prescribing where permitted.
Interprofessional Collaboration: Work closely with dental, vision, and other medical professionals to develop integrated care plans, participate in case reviews, and coordinate referrals as needed.
Patient Education: Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the provided electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal telehealth regulations, including licensure, HIPAA, and other relevant healthcare laws and standards.
Telehealth Services Offered:
ENT (Otolaryngology):
Evaluation and management of sinus congestion, allergies, sore throat, voice changes, ear pain, tinnitus, and hearing loss
Chronic disease management (e.g., allergic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis)
Remote digital otoscopy and audiometry
Medication refills and adjustments
Pre- and post-operative care for ENT procedures
Patient education and preventive counseling
Triage and referral for in-person care when indicated
Ophthalmology:
Diabetic retinopathy screening and management
Glaucoma screening, monitoring, and medication management
Remote evaluation of red eye, conjunctivitis, dry eye, and visual changes
Tele-neuro-ophthalmology consultations
Ultra-widefield retinal imaging review (where available)
Pre- and post-operative care for ophthalmic surgeries
Asynchronous review of patient-submitted images and data
Patient education and preventive eye care
Triage and referral for urgent or emergent in-person evaluation
Interprofessional Collaboration:
Participation in integrated care models with dental and vision teams
Joint case reviews and care planning for complex or overlapping conditions
Shared patient education initiatives
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with board certification in Otolaryngology (ENT) and/or Ophthalmology
Active, unrestricted medical license in the state(s) where telehealth services will be provided (multi-state licensure preferred)
Minimum of 1 years clinical experience in specialty practice.
Strong communication, organizational, and patient engagement skills
Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety
Ability to work independently and manage a remote patient panel
Willingness to participate in interprofessional collaboration and ongoing training
